Yoga is back!
I am pleased to announce that yoga is coming back to Marquette Plaza! Base Management would like to invite all tenants of Marquette Plaza to participate in a FREE yoga class on the following dates in June – 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 12:05 pm to 1:05 pm. The class will be held on the Plaza, weather permitting (communication will be sent out if the class is moved indoors). We will consider scheduling more classes based on participation.
The class will be lead by Kara, she will teach vinyasa based yoga at Marquette Plaza. Vinyasa is a diverse and unique practice that will vary between classes and teachers. Vinyasa yoga incorporates flow – matching breath with movement. During class Kara will guide you through vinyasa flow where all yogis are invited to maintain a simpler pose or opt for a more challenging variation.
Kara’s Bio: Kara began her journey to yoga through her love for dance which was kindled at the age of 3. She continued on through college to receive a BA degree in Dance Performance and Choreography. Post college, Kara danced with several dance companies and performed on many stages. Throughout her dance training, various yoga techniques and asanas were introduced. However, it wasn’t until a debilitating hip injury that her focused yoga journey began. Nearly 6 years ago, she was forced to put dance aside as the injury took her body over. Several healers using various techniques were able to get her to a comfortable state and it was suggested that she start adding yoga to her recovery plans to rehabilitate her hip. Kara began taking yoga several times a week. Although, the allure was physical benefits of the practice, the spiritual and mental benefits were immediately apparent. As a full-time technology employee, a work-life balance began to fit into the mix along with the physical health. Yoga for Kara branched from her yoga mat to the rest of her life. She decided to share the gift of yoga by becoming a certified instructor in early 2009. Since then, Kara has been teaching Vinyasa style yoga classes to people of all ages and spaces. Her style is deeply conscious, encouraging awareness of the traditional pillars of yoga: body, breath and mind, while remaining playful and light-hearted.
Bring: Mat, towel, and water.
